Key Responsibilities
- The main job scope is to be accountable at a strategic level for the administrative, financial, commercial, and risk management operations of the Singapore & Malaysia distribution management business.
- Reporting to MD & Regional Finance Lead in Canada.
- Lead 7 people in the finance team, including managers, executives.
- This includes development of a financial and supporting the operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
- The position will maintain a close working relationship with local management, the LAMEA Regional Executives, and partners as appropriate.
- The position sits as a member of the Management Team and is required to build a collaborative and effective relationship with the customer and employees, and ensure credibility and trust in the financial position presented to the customer.
- 1. Planning
- Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
- Develop financial and tax strategies
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
- Assist the Managing Director & other executives with pricing negotiations
- 2. Operations
- Maintain sound business & professional relations with all members of the Management team
- Manage the accounting, treasury, commercial, legal, tax, internal governance and accounts payable/receivable functions of the business
- Oversee the financial operations of Singapore & Malaysia distribution business
- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
- Implement operational best practices
- Supervise due diligence activities
- Supervise periodic internal and external audit processes
- 3. Financial Information
- Oversee the issuance and accuracy of all financial Information
- Personally review and approve all required filings with the Securities, Exchange Commission or other instrumentalities as required
- Prepare and report financial results to the local Executive Team, Regional CFO and Corporate Office as required and in accordance with the established reporting calendar
- 4. Risk Management
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Construct and monitor reliable internal control and corporate governance systems
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements within the scope of the role
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors, government agencies and company governance requirements
- 5. Funding
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
- Arrange for business financing as required
- Manage internal cash transfer processes
- Ensure an efficient accounts payable/receivable department is operating
- Ensure receipts and payments are made within agreed terms
- 6. People Management
- Participate in recruitment activities as and when relevant employee selection, career development, succession planning
- After which, ensure appropriate training and development plans are in place for all staff as part of the talent management process
- Performance management of staff as required
Skills & Experiences
- Minimum Certified in ACCA
- Minimum 15 years of experience as Senior Finance Manager
- Transformation & Democratic Leadership style
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Love working with people coming from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Comfortable to travel to Singapore once every 2 months
