Job Description

We are looking for someone to manage and optimize our database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role involves server deployment, monitoring, and maintenance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Operations
• Implement database changes such as SQL queries, index modifications, and data file management.
• Manage database backups, recovery strategies, and data synchronization to ensure business continuity.
• Monitor database performance and alerts, ensuring systems meet SLA standards.
• Maintain security compliance and audit database operations.
• Handle AWS database services including RDS, Redshift, and NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB).
• Incident Response
• Respond promptly to database-related issues, working with internal and external teams to resolve production incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis, create incident reports, and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize database performance by analyzing logs, identifying bottlenecks, and improving query efficiency.
• Project Support
• Collaborate with application development teams to design database structures that meet business requirements.
• Enhance database architecture for high availability, including cluster setup, replication, and failover solutions.
• Maintain documentation, including design documents, operational manuals, and change logs. 

Skills & Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
•  Proven experience in database administration and operations . 
• In-depth knowledge of database systems and cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS. 
• Proficient in MySQL, RDS, Redis, Redshift, and MongoDB, with familiarity in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

•  Extensive experience in database architecture design and implementing high-availability solutions. 
• Well-versed in backup and recovery strategies, monitoring tools, and ensuring compliance with security standards. 
• Hands-on experience in backing up and restoring a variety of databases. 
• Strong understanding of incident response procedures and database performance tuning methodologies. 
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work seamlessly in cross-functional teams.
