Skills and Requirements

1)Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Nutrition or related field.

2)Minimum 5 years of relevant product development experience in fast-moving consumer (FMCG)/supplement/functional food industry.

3)Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

4)Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and consistently meet deadlines working in a fast pace environment.

5)Able to do annual planning, quarterly planning, monthly planning, and weekly planning for the R&D team

Job Responsibilities

1)Define the product strategy and road map.

2)Create new concepts that enhance and improve existing products, with the goal to differentiate themfrom other brands via additional features and improved function/reliability.

3)Develop completely new product concepts within existing categories, and in new categories, including: ideation, ingredient selection and manufacturing launch.

4)Locate, evaluate and recommend new supplier to grow MPT existing supplier base, with a focus on developing new capabilities and processes, complimentary to current sources

5)Deliver market research and product specifications.

6)Analyse relevant product information; identify and source new ingredients, processing technologies and product sensory/taste appropriate to new emerging consumer trends

7)Be the link between purchasing, production, quality, regulatory and marketing teams.

8)Manage all steps of product life cycle and report to performance to the factory manager/director.

9)Ensure on-time execution of new products to meet release deadlines.

10)Coordinate efforts throughout the product process including R&D, Sourcing, Design, and product development.

11)Coordinate product development and launching execution plans with marketing team, which includes but not limited to raw materials specs screening and evaluation and ensure raw materials are sufficient to achieve target output (samples for testimonials)

12)Effectively lead and train team members in sensory tests, new product presentation method, provide technical guidance for product preparation and pilot production arrangement.

13)Work together with regulatory department to ensure product developed adhere to Health Authority regulatory requirements (ingredient list on product label, negative list etc).

14)Implement, design, maintain and review of R&D Documentation according GLP standards.

15)Provide technical assessments for evaluation of new product/process opportunities to achieve intended taste/effectiveness/stability.

16)Responsible for departmental budget and cost control, including initiation of dealing with supplier to meet requirement.

17)Setup and review SOPs for all R&D processes.

18)Lead and guide the R&D team on product stability issue and ensure the product stability studies are conducted according to SOP.

19)Manage scale up process of product from laboratory scale to large scale production, including troubleshooting or adjustment of formulation to solve trial run issue.

20)Solve all R&D quality and scale up issues for the following dosage form: Liquid, Emulsion, Tablet, Chewable Tablet, Capsule and Powder form of supplement/food products.

21)Responsible in implementing the cleanliness, work system, documentation according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
