Key Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a Marketing Lead (Product Development & Digital) to create impactful customer success and develop the value of our products for new customers and in new applications. You share our passion for making sustainability a reality and driving change towards a better food ecosystem. In your role, you will lead our strategic and tactical marketing including CRM, digital as well as product development; working directly with the CEO and leadership team.
  • This is an ambitious and challenging role, you will be responsible for the development of our Insect Products (Hermet Protein & Hermet Oil for animal feed, Hermet Frass for agriculture and YumGrubs for pet food), our Insect Farming Technology as well as the overall company marketing and work directly.
  • To succeed, you'll be a creative and versatile hustler, with lots of ideas, but also strategic and analytical discipline to focus and execute tactics and projects effectively. You will not only take part in developing a world-class, effective marketing organization, but also to realise our vision of Making Insects Work for a better food system!
  • Responsibilities:
  • - Product and Marketing Strategy: Deeply understand and co-develop our company growth strategy. Develop and implement product marketing strategies, narratives and plans that support the company's vision and create sustained and differentiated value of our offerings for our customers across Feed, Agriculture, Waste Management as well as Protenga as a company.
  • - Product development and Story Telling: Use qualitative and quantitative data and strong analysis and judgment to create compelling product and company narratives.
  • - Guide and co-develop the product development roadmap based on market research and customer insights to identify product and application opportunities that can drive value for our core products and new propositions based on our insect products and technology platform.
  • - Guide the roadmap for R&D product trials both with customers as well as with independent research organisations to validate specific product benefits and claims that add value to our product propositions and strategic positioning.
  • - Develop creative marketing plans for our products to make our sustainability impact a reality - means helping customers to get value from our products and developing relationships and partnerships across the value chain. Experiment, Validate and Iterate.
  • Market Understanding:
  • - Understand the market and customer needs DEEPLY. You must have the intellectual breadth and curiosity to really understand our markets and our customers across all our operating segments (Feed, Pet Food, Agriculture, Organic Waste Management & Biomass, Company brand).
  • - Conduct market research, analyse marketing and sales data and provide effective analytics and reports reflecting insight and clarity. Build structures and processes with internal and external resources to measure and monitor what's happening and where we stand.
  • Customer Obsession:
  • - Develop top-notch customer experiences and value propositions
  • - Be responsive and consultative by deeply knowing and caring about our products and our customers' businesses and challenges.
  • - Customer accounts management - build & maintain excellent relationships!
  • - Responding to customers enquiries via phone, email, and in-person; providing stunning customer experience and service.
  • Execute! Build the team, processes and systems for sustained world-class success:
  • - Thought Leadership & Knowledge Center: Maintain excellent data and documentation, develop team capacity, systems, structured processes for internal and external use.
  • - Successfully implement Sales and Marketing plans and projects. Lead all activities between traditional and digital marketing, this could include:
  • Product design and packaging:
  • - Inbound and outbound marketing, including promotional activities online and physically, like trade shows, exhibitions etc. and digital like Website, e-commerce, SEO/SEM, inbound & content strategy;
  • - Developing the storyboard, vision, brand, sales playbooks and channel strategies for the products and company
  • - Develop knowledge center for compliance, regulatory, licensing, certifications, standards as well as export/import matters and implement as part of competitive positioning.

Skills & Experiences

  • Requirements:
  • - At least 8 years of relevant working experience with world-class marketing teams of which 3 years should be in team lead roles.
  • - You must be able to demonstrate deep thinking and understanding of our domains as well as strategic marketing concepts and tools. It doesn't mean that you have to have worked in those industries, but by the time you apply, you should have dug deep enough to be able to tell us something thoughtful and insightful about our products, markets and marketing strategy.
  • - You should have a demonstrable track record in strategic marketing and product planning as well as tactical execution and delivering results.
  • - It's a strong plus if you've worked in animal feed with a differentiated product company and if you were instrumental in creating and explaining this differentiation.
  • - Required traits, attributes and behaviors:
  • - Articulate and concise; able to express yourself well in speech and in writing. Able to communicate ideas well and in simple terms.
  • - You value both quantitative and qualitative data; you know your numbers and how to create compelling, data based stories. You have a strong technical, analytical and scientific foundation allowing you to design trials and evaluate plans, data and results.
  • - Creative, whimsical mind that's keen to explore uncharted seas; You should have broad knowledge and experiences to draw inspiration from and a sense for aesthetics and design.
  • - Have a high level of adaptability and able to work independently and interdependently
  • - Strong attention to detail and high work standards, ability to organize time efficiently;
  • - Pro-active and independent thinking and problem-solving competency
  • - Malaysians preferred, but international candidates will be considered. Remote is an option for senior candidates.
