Guideline For Expatriate's Entry Permission Supporting Letter 2020

This is a newly-issued guidelines for the entry of Expatriate / Professional Worker Entering Malaysia for Key Posts and Technical Posts, and for Dependents during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.

ESD aims to improve the process of work permits approval for expatriate by issuing a new guideline in obtaining Supporting Letter for Employment Pass submission.

Here are the guidelines presented by ESD  for the list of Approving Agencies and Regulatory Bodies. A Guidelines for The Entry of Expatriate to Malaysia for 2020 can be accessed here.

To obtain Support Letter from Approving Agency and Regulatory Body, EMPLOYER need to prepare a letter with below details and send soft copy via email to respective the Approving agency according to  company business's nature :

i. Name of the company

ii. Nature of business

iii. Justifications on the need to enter the country

iv. Expatriate’s information (name, passport number, nationality, passport expiry date)

v. Position

vi. Current active pass (if applicable)

vii. Relevant supporting documents

The list of Approving Agencies  and Regulatory Bodies are for reference purpose only.  There may be changes of procedures by Ministry of health, Malaysia or Immigration Department, Malaysia along the way.

For the company which not on any listed sector/non regulated shall proceed with submission and additional supporting documents, e.g. Expatriate Offer Letter, expatriate's  list of project/tasks.
